About the event
Sister Pie: The Recipes and Stories of a Big-Hearted Bakery in Detroit celebrates five years! Join us for an intimate chat with Lisa about the making of this beloved cookbook, her favorite recipes, and what’s on the horizon for Detroit’s iconic bakery.
The conversation will be facilitated by Sarah Williams, local journalist and co-owner of Next Chapter Books. There will be an opportunity for audience Q & A.
Lisa Ludwinski launched Sister Pie out of her parent’s Milford kitchen in 2012 and began to build the business piece-by-piece, with the help of many community supporters and a whole lot of dancing. She and a small crew of passionate people opened the doors to the Detroit pie shop in April 2015, and they’ve been baking ever since, with a focus on the Triple-Bottom-Line: people, planet, profit. Lisa currently resides in the West Village of Detroit - an approximately six minute walk away from Sister Pie.
Lisa will be signing cookbooks at this event, available in-store. If you have one at home covered in flour, bring it with you!
