Position: Seasonal Part-Time Bookseller

Next Chapter Books is hiring a part-time, seasonal bookseller for the holiday season.

 

Primary responsibilities:

• Assisting customers at checkout; ringing up purchases

• Locating books/merchandise on the sales floor for customers

• Shelving books/organizing sections

• Assisting in creating themed displays

• Perform light cleaning duties such as dusting, vacuuming, and arranging shelves

• Assist with processing used books

 

Qualifications:

• High School Graduate

• Transportation to and from the bookstore

• Excellent customer service skills

• Retail experience

• Bookselling experience preferred, but not required

• Previous experience using Square point-of-sale is a bonus

• Saturdays required

• Able to lift (safely) and carry boxes of 20 Lbs

• LOVE OF READING!

 

This role is a temporary, part-time, non-exempt position. Compensation is $16.00 per hour, and the employee is expected to work 10 to 15 hours per week, from mid-October 2026 through December 2026.
